As you guys know, everyone who has an empire is tiptoeing their way into social networks. Inevitable this means that they are inching their way into our territory of social and casual gaming. I just got an eyeful of Google Buzz when I went to check my email a few minutes ago. Before I get to Googling google about a google entity I wanted to invite some feedback. I am curious about what you guys think Google is doing and how it will play into our futures (you know it all does). Does this tie into Google wave at all? What about Okrut? There are a lot of elements that come into play. Meanwhile I was just looking forward to Unity on Android and Unity in a wave.
I think that discussions about these seemingly unrelated business events are vital to our survival as indie game developers. If one of you gets something from the discussion that allows him/her to spring a step ahead of the big boys then this discussion has served its purpose.
For the skeptics out there- please realize that the king of search can become the king of whatever else they choose just by redirecting your search results to it, your email to it, you maps to it ,your youtube videos to it, and so on. I’m a strong believer in the subtle art of subconscious priming- I dunno blame it on my Psych upbringing. When 12 ton gorillas move the only advantage that us little guys have is the ability to react in a nimble manner. If you see something in the tea leaves based on Google’s highly hyped step leverage it and build your future brand from it.
